The Dell Inspiron Mini 10 and Mini 1011 fall under the netbook category which means they are small colored laptops designed specifically as lightweight and highly portable computers. We recently took a closer look at this mini pink laptop and wanted to share the points which should benefit you the most.

As far as the small laptops go what we typically find is the Intel Atom processor and in this case it is the N270 which runs at a clock speed of 1.6GHz.

This is very typical of mini laptops these days and provides the decent responsiveness you would expect from a small laptop. One other slightly more techie point we would like to mention is that this processor is designed to run on 533MHz and has a 512K L2 cache. This is good but it is not representative of just quite how powerful many of the other small laptops on the market are. These specs mean that you do get good performance and reliability at a considerably lower price than the more powerful models.

Stepping away from the more technical side of things for just a moment we wanted to mention that the mini pink laptop selection also gives you a choice of some other cool colors including Ice Blue, Passion Purple, Cherry Red, Alpine White and Jade Green. Most mini laptop manufacturers are offering much more than just basic black these days!

Dell Mini Pink Laptop 1011

The Dell 1011 mini pink laptop we reviewed was designed to use the standard 10.1 inch widescreen display which used the typical Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950. Nothing extremely special about this but it does offer a nice bright quality about the picture when surfing the web and looks best at a 1024 X 600 resolution.

Some of the extras which came with this model include the Dell limited hardware warranty with 24/7 phone tech support for 1 year. It is nice to have a warranty and it is typical to get a 1 year warranty with any manufactures mini laptop that you buy new.

Hopefully you will never have to use it because the deal is that you will spend a chunk of time on the phone if you need to use it. But at least it offers some piece of mind as far as your investment goes.

Additional extras we found that came with this cute little mini pink laptop included the typical trial-ware you will find on any manufacturers new laptop computer. These consist of limited time short term versions of antivirus software and/or antispyware packages as well as office products and other assorted programs which may or may not interest you however all will typically be short term trial versions.

Getting on the Internet through the wireless network in our office as well as from a public hotspot with this mini pink laptop was a breeze and it worked perfectly using the built-in Dell Wireless 1397 802.11g Half Mini Card. We have used these same components numerous times before on Dell reviews and have basically never had any issues with them. They get you online and are quick and reliable which appears to be the main reason the colored mini laptops are so popular.
