Green Dell Studio 1535

Dell Studio 1535 Green

Overall the green Dell Studio 1535 colored laptop is an impressively powerful machine able to do some fairly heavy gaming, and yet it can still be bought for at a relatively inexpensive price.

This model comes in colors including green, black, blue, gray, orange, purple, pink and red. By design, each color tends to stand out nicely, yet still remain on the conservative side of colored laptops. For conservative versatility purposes, the green Dell Studio 1535 we reviewed was in a shade of green which should work great in classroom settings just as well as it works in business and professional environments.

The model we are using for this review is powered by the 2.0GHz Super Fast Intel Core 2 Duo T7250 800Mhz with a big 2MB of L2 cache which adds to the overall speed of this computer. Along with this is 3GB of PC2 DDR2 667 MHz system memory making it a powerful off the shelf configuration.

We found that the Super Fast ATI Radeon HD 3450 video card with 256MB of memory of its own, fares quite well while playing Call of Duty 4. Gaming laptops on the more affordable side have come a long way in recent times. The LCD screen is a typical 15.4 inch Wide XGA+ which will run at a maximum resolution of 1280 x 800.

The graphics are quite vivid on the gloss-like screen design, and it is well suited to both games and watching movies. The sound is somewhat better than average, yet still a laptop, with the Sigmatel 9205 Onboard Sound for basic audio applications. It is always interesting to see how laptop manufactures occasionally attempt to get high quality audio out of their designs, and we have found that when they do actually focus on this it can begin to get fairly decent.

On the 250GB SATA hard drive is Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium Service Pack 1 installed. Once again, a typical off the shelf configuration which provides for more than adequate storage room for movies, pictures, iTunes, data files, etc.

Additional features noted on the green green Dell Studio 1535 laptop review include:

  • Broadcom 10/100/1000 Gigabit Ethernet adapter
  • Built-in Wireless Dell 1397 Dual Band 54MB WLAN Mini-PC Wireless Card
  • Built-in 2 megapixel webcam
  • 8X DVD +/- RW Double Layer Combo Drive
  • HDMI port
  • Touch-sensitive media controls
  • 4 USB 2.0 ports
  • 1 FireWire port
  • 802.11 a/b/g Wi-Fi

Weighing in at just 6.1 pounds, this mid-sized or basically standard portable laptop offers some surprisingly powerful graphic capabilities for a somewhat “budget” laptop computer. All around a good laptop design capable of performing some high end tasks while moving around quickly and responsively.

The Dell Studio 1535 can take a maximum of 4GB of memory. This is a great feature which most current newer laptop models do offer. All the extra memory (RAM) makes it quite easy to install heavy duty audio, video, and overall graphics intensive applications especially with Vista or Win 7 to take advantage of the extra memory.
