The Dell Inspiron 1318 comes in an appealing deep Pacific Blue color with a glossy appearance which remains an attractive, yet conservative color laptop ready to cross elegantly from home to the work place.

Colored Laptops

This is an ultra portable laptop which weighs in at a mere 4.9 pounds. The 1318 offers a 13.3" WXGA TrueLife widescreen display and the video is powered by the Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X3100 which provides a vibrant viewing experience. The maximum resolution is 1280 x 800. While testing DVD movies the display remained crisp, clear and as noted vibrantly sharp with no hesitations from the system.

Our Inspiron 1318 review machine is powered by the 1.86GHz Intel Pentium Dual Core T2390 with a 533MHz FSB (Front Side Bus). There is 2GB of memory installed and the maximum that this computer will accept is 4GB which leaves room to upgrade if it ever became necessary to run advanced resource intensive applications.

On the 160GB SATA hard drive is a fully loaded Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium SP1 installation as the operating system. This is a decent amount of storage space, there are bigger hard drives, but this seems like a good fit for a smaller ultra portable color laptop like this one.

The internal 2.0 megapixel webcam is sufficient for keeping in touch with friends and family via video, or even attending online web conferences. The 2.0 High Definition audio gives a fairly decent audio experience through the internal speakers as well as through headphones. Of course this is just your basic audio you find on most laptops but the HD aspect does make things a little clearer and well balanced.

Overall this seems to be one of the reliable, multimedia enabled little colored laptops for those seeking both power, and light weight portability. The included features have varied to a certain extent on this particular model and upgrades are generally very easy.

Additional features of our Dell Inspiron 1318 review blue laptop include a CD/DVD +/- RW, built-in Ethernet port, built-in 802.11g wireless capabilities, a 6-cell lithium ion battery, Multi-card reader including Flash Memory cards, Memory Stick, Memory Stick PRO, SD Memory, xD-Picture, SDIO, and other basic features.

The Dell Inspiron 1318 review revealed the quality of this ultra portable computer. We found the construction to be sturdy and the design to be well thought out as well.

It is great to see so many colored laptops being produced today because not so long ago they were kind of rare and reviews were kind of hard to find. There is no reason portable computers should be the same old boring colors like the old beige desktops where for so many years.
