Pink Laptop Computers

Today’s pink laptops represent a choice from fashionably conservative to hot pink models designed to demand attention. We take a look at some of the great pink laptop examples and how they can benefit everyone.

With the speed of which laptop technology can advance, it can be challenging to maintain an up-to-date knowledge of what the hottest trends are at any point in time. When we recently reviewed one of the pink Sony Vaio EB models it provided us with an opportunity to checkout several newer technologies all within a single pink laptop computer. The laptop is powered by the 2.66GHz Intel i7-620M with 4MB of L3 cache and Turbo Boost.

The 500GB hard drive was loaded with Win 7 Home Premium x64 Edition. This is a standard sized laptop with a 15.5” widescreen LCD display with a 1366×768 resolution. Additionally this Sony Vaio offers wireless b/g/n capabilities and a Blu-Ray ROM drive. This is a pink laptop which provides many cutting edge technologies which at less than 6 lbs remains lightweight and portable.

On the smaller side, the Asus 1008P-KR-PU17-PI netbook, part of the Eee PC line, is designed with a specific focus on being ultra-portable. This pink netbook (subcompact notebook classification) uses a 1.66GHz Intel Atom processor, as do numerous other netbooks on the market today. A notable advancement in the netbook computers recently has been their ability to utilize 2GB of RAM (system memory) as opposed to some of the older models with 1GB limitations. This makes it much more feasible to run Win 7 on the netbook computer.

Pink Colored Laptops

The netbook computers which are also called mini laptops, are commonly found in the 7″ to 10.1″ screen size range. While there are some models which are in the 12.1″ range and still considered to be netbooks, the 10.1″ screen is one of the most prolific today. Because the ultra-portable design relies on packing all of the internal components into a small case, the challenge is in keeping not only the size, but the weight of the laptop down as well.

Most laptop manufacturers have released colorful versions of these mini laptops, and while these can be found in bright attention grabbing colors and designs, they can also be found in more conservative colors which would not be out of place in certain business scenarios. This versatility is important because consumers who enjoy having added benefits such as colorful laptops may need to consider the environments which the laptops will be utilized in. Many of the more powerful colorful mini laptops will be conservative enough to work well in business settings.

We recently had the opportunity to review a pink Lenovo IdeaPad S10-2. This particular model is an example of the 10.1″ version which is powered by the 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270 processor. While there are netbook computers which use AMD processors (as well as some with ARM architecture), the Intel Atom is probably the most common today.

The Lenovo IdeaPad is yet another colorful pink mini laptop which is comparable to several manufacturer’s examples in this classification. The unit comes with XP loaded on a 160GB hard drive, and has 1GB of system memory.

Additionally we noted the six cell battery (decent charge life as compared to a 4 cell), integrated 1.3 pixel webcam, integrated microphone, stereo speakers, wireless, Ethernet and 3 USB ports. Many of the netbooks in this classification are very similar in their specifications. While there are numerous pink laptops available in varying sizes today, it actually gives consumers a choice of budget level as well. Matching your requirements and the tasks you wish to accomplish to the right laptop is important.
